Closer to your dream

Foça, which is the precious piece of İzmir, is an archaic town with its antique houses and streets. You can see many ruins from Greek times like houses and wind mills. And you can make a journey with feeling the atmosphere of the past in Foça. The smelling of history of streets can make you feel better. But as a warning, it can be dazzling. When you walk around the streets, you will make a journey to the past. And you feel the peace inside of you. In summer times, this small and pretty town is more alive than winters. When you go there in summer, you will have a chance to swim in the cool water of Aegean sea. Moreover, I can severely suggest you to eat a fish in one of Foça's beautiful fish restaurants. When you eat a fish with a sea view, you can also watch the gorgeous scene of town. I can also suggest you to see marvellous bays of Foça. In summers, there are cruises which especially tourists show an interest. You can see beautiful bays and Siren rocks which there were seals in old times. Also Foça gets its name from seals as Phokaia which evokes Greek. So then, Foça is worth to see. Do not put away your dreams.

Beyond dream

Smyrna with its old name from ancient times, İzmir owns more than your dreams. İzmir is actually not like a city, it is a way of life. With its weather, sea and people, İzmir is the best place to catch the eternal peace. Most of the people do not know some terms special to İzmir. If you have never come to İzmir before, you should definitely eat boyoz and kumru. Do not think of kumru is a bird-it is actually a kind of bird in Turkish. But this one is an extremely delicious sandwich with fried cheese, salami cut into slices, ketchup and mayonnaise in it. Boyoz is also another food special to İzmir. It is eaten in mornings with tea. If you think of coming to İzmir, I will suggest to call at Kordon and drink some coffee with sea view. You can see many people cheerful and smiling to you around there. And you can think why she smiles or greets to me because she does not know me but İzmir's people are gracious. They greet everyone with their sincerity. In summer, you go to small lovely towns like Foça and spend couple of days in peace. There are actually many reasons to go to İzmir and which I mention are the basic ones to know. But I severely suggest to see İzmir if you go to the Aegean Sea. Maybe the thing you dream is there.
